Frequently Asked Questions
I want to build a new home. What are the next steps?
Before embarking on your next big project, you have a few things to consider:
- Your budget
- Choosing a lot
- Picking a house layout
How long does it take to build a new home?
Our plant typically builds a home in 8-10 weeks once we get it in our plant. From then, as long as your foundation or screw piles are in, all that's left is your utility connections and connections between modulars (if the house is more than one piece) and you're ready to move in!
How do I come up with a blueprint?
Your blueprints are what will get you a detailed, accurate estimate for the construction of your new home. At R.C.M. Condos 2019 Inc, if you're looking to come up with a plan, contact us and we can give you some options to work off of, or the internet has lots of options for purchase that we can work off of. One way or the other, we'll come up with a beautiful, functional plan!
How do I choose between screw piles or a foundation?
First, check with your town or county, they may have rules and regulations on what you're allowed to do in your area. Screw piles are typically the more cost effective option but will require skirting to be installed after. Foundations are great options if you want a full depth basement or a crawlspace with heated storage space.
How do I pick all my colors and finishings?
These selections can be quite daunting as there are so many little things to think of and so many options. Once you have plans finalized, we will sit down with you and go through everything bit by bit with samples and pictures so you can be confident what you've envisioned turns out the way you expect.
What's all included in my quote?
We always try to be as clear as possible when giving you pricing and everything should typically be listed. We generally give you a 'basic quote' to start with and go from there. This means you get to pick what you want us to help with after the building itself and what you'd like to spend the extra money on . You can decide to add on decks, screw piles, skirting, eavestroughs, upgraded siding, tile, or whatever else you desire to our list of services.
What about on-site work?
There is a lot of on-site work that needs to be done before and after your home is delivered. You will need permits, screw piles or a foundation, driveway paving, landscaping, potentially decks and stairs, fences, all of your utility permits and connections, eavestroughs, skirting, and potentially more. We typically allow you to manage this side of your project but are willing to take some or all of it on if you would prefer.
